Welcome to the madhouse!!!

Well believe it or not, tomorrow is my last day at work and Sophie's last day at school until the start of September ! Wow, what a year it's been, I'm so over-worked and over-stressed (NOT!!!) Off "sick" on early maternity leave from November, back to work 3 1/2 months after the birth at the start of June .... just in time for the "conseils de classe" (end-of-term staff meetings to decide who goes through and who has to repeat the year) and after that, half of the kids don't come any more anyway ! And those that do just want to play games and watch DVDs. Couldn't have planned it better !

The real work starts now though - keeping Sophie entertained for 2 months ! Helllllppppppp !!!

I can hear my dad from here going "what's a blog???!!!" - it's just an online diary type of thing, kind of like a website but a lot less work. And as I can't be bothered to get my arse in gear and make a website for Juliette, this is the easy option (and absolutely everyone seems to have one, even Juliette's friends - in the modern world, you get a blog before you start getting your baby teeth !)

Everyone's blog seems to have a theme - meet the family, family history, freebie hunting, journal of a midlife crisis, holiday snaps. I don't know where mine is going but it'll probably be all that and more (hopefully without the midlife crisis bit!!)

Feel free to comment on anything but just remember, everything you type can be read by the general public (and even French walls have ears !!!)
