Well Monday was the first day of the holidays and it was nice and sunny so we set off for a day out at "Goat Park". Trip on the bus, picnic, woodland walk, ducks, swings, ice cream - what more could you want ?! We left at 11.30 and didn't get home until 4.30 !!!
Sophie was in charge of the food and did a good job - ham and cucumber sandwiches, crisps, tomatoes, strawberries, apple puree, orange juice, banana, cheese ... and chocolate mini eggs !!!
While Mum packed away the rubbish, the girls played on the fitness trail !

Sophie found a new ice cream - pink, glittery stick, silver balls - what more could a Barbie Princess freak want ?!!
Well, he did win us a £50 cheque in the pet of the month competition so I figured it was only fair he got a run around, now the nicer weather is here !
When I went to put him away again, he was bleeding and one of his claws was hanging off - not sure how that happened (when he climbed up on the wall as above maybe ???). Had a slight panic because I remember being told (by someone who will remain nameless, Sheila !!!) that if you accidentally cut the blood vessel in a guinea pigs claw when clipping their nails, they'll bleed to death, but he seems right as rain and hasn't keeled over yet (this was on Sunday !!) I wonder if a mongoose would survive too !!!
After the peas and the rabbit, it was time for lego !
After two failed shopping trips and a useless online search (it's spring, the sun's out, why is nowhere stocking lightweight mid-season jackets ???), we finally managed to find a jacket for Sophie at the supermarket. They only had three models in the entire shop but luckily one of them was pink and fitted !

I took Sophie to the market on Sunday and came back with over €15's worth of fruit and vegetables !!! You name it, we bought it (something tells me we'll be doing lots of cooking next week ! ) - strawberries, grapes, pineapple, melons, watermelon, cherry tomatoes, avocado, big green chillis to stuff, spring onions, baby endives, ... and fresh peas ! Little did I know, peashelling was going to be the activity for the rest of the morning !!!
Some of the peas had sprouted so that'll give us something else to do next week - planting peas !!!
Juliette occasionally goes rummaging through Sophie's hairslides tin !
Just in time for the Spring break - the kids (and me ! ) have got the next two and a half weeks off school !
So Sophie and Juliette get to have their "princess tea" outside. They love it and I don't have to worry about clearing up the spills and dropped bits of food !!!
That was the name of the design I chose when I won a Tshirt on an online competition but when it arrived, Juliette AND Sophie were scared of it !!! So I said "he's not scary, he just does the same smiley face as Mummy when she's being a loony" and we had a contest and took pics to prove the point ! Now, Juliette comes and undoes my zip-up fleece top when she knows it's under there and does a big smiley face !!!
It must have been modelled on me !!!

Post-bandana sticking-up fringe - reminds me of why I grew my fringe out !!!
Juliette was obviously mentally scarred by her last scare-cut (!!!) so every time I went anywhere near her with a pair of scissors (even baby nail sciccors !) she ran away saying "no no no". But her hair is too fine too stay up in bunches and she pulls them out anyway so she couldn't see anything !

Well they finally announced the winner of the secret agent competition and ... Sophie won the top prize !!! They had to disqualify half of the entries because either they didn't respect the mission (show your cherub sign - the thing she had stuck on her glasses) or they flouted the one vote per mission per day rule - some people apparently spent up to 6 hours voting for themselves !!!

(As a rough idea, my current mobile phone is 5 years old, does nothing except make and receive phonecalls and has a permanently flat battery because when fully recharged it only lasts a few hours !!! )

Since coming back from England, I had a very hectic week marking, followed by a hectic week filling in school reports, followed by a hectic week having school meetings (conseils de classe), so I've been working at home up until about 10pm and at work until 8pm. So not much time for getting on the blog and nothing much to tell.
But things will be back to normal now. It's a long weekend with Monday off, Tuesday is a normal day, Wednesday is my day off, Thursday I'm in training all day (followed by a couple of meetings but in the absence of kids all day, everyone will be chilled out !) and Friday is a normal day then it's over 2 weeks off for spring break. I'll be back to mega-amounts of blogging then !
