Got me a day off work though (even if I did have to spend the morning in the doctor's waiting for a sick note !) and after an hour of feeling icky and having stomach ache, it all went away and I felt fine !!! What a skive !!!

or "cap gris nez" as it's called in French ... which is just along the coast from White Nose Cape. It's basically the Calais equivalent of the white cliffs of Dover ! Last Sunday we headed to the beach then finished off with an open day at the farm we passed. The girls could feed straw to the cows in the barn and there was a bull called Obelix in a field by himself (enormous great bullocks !!!)
It was a bank holiday so I forced Mike into going to Plopsaland last Tuesday !

Sophie always wants to run through the fountains - this time, I actually had a change of clothes (and a sick towel in the car !!! )

Haven't had a chance to get on for ages so just to bring you up to speed quickly :
- Sophie's had her ears pierced !!! She's been asking for ages so we took her last Saturday. She's got little pink flower earrings in for the next six weeks .
- the computer died on us (always goes wrong on a bank holiday weekend for some reason !!) but it was probably a good thing because it was due to the power supply burning out so I don't know if that could have been a fire risk. Mike got some extra ram added at the same time so it's going a bit faster now anyway.
- I took advantage of a moment of calm (and sunshine) to send Sophie upstairs during Juliette's nap, push all the furniture out on to the balcony and mop the living/dining room floor. Just as I was finishing, Juliette woke up so I emptied the bucket, and rushed off to leave them outside to dry off. Bucket in one hand, mop in the other, I did the perfect cartoon slippy floor thing where my feet were going on the spot but not gaining ground !! Couldn't break my fall because I had my hands full so came down hard on my leg which is now rainbow coloured (black, blue, yellow, purple) from knee to shin !!! That'll teach me not to do silly things like housework again !!
- Found a new childminder - the neighbour of the old one so not too far away. Also found out (I think) why the current childminder handed in her notice - she kept going on about Juliette going to school in September, I said I didn't know if I'd be signing her up or not yet, Sophie didn't go to school until she was gone 3 and I'd probably do the same for Juliette. Her chin hit the floor and she said "oh, I didn't know Sophie didn't go to school straight away aged 2" - so I assume she thought she'd be down to less hours and that was why she didn't want to carry on. She could have just asked !!!
